I seem to have been struck with this strange illness known in MMO circles as ALTitis. It is the compulsion to play several different lower level characters in a game. On my current server I now have a level 47 priest, level 23 shaman, and level 20 druid to keep my 70 hunter company. <\/p>\n
Worse yet it the desire to roll up a new alliance character on a different server. Yes you heard correctly; not go back to one of my existing level 60s and level up to 70. No that would be too easy. Instead I have an itch to start a brand new alliance character on a friends PVP server. I must somehow enjoy the pain. <\/p>\n
Actually, except for the PVP ganking, I find starting new characters relaxing. The early game in WoW is so well designed, flowing so well from one area to another, and easy enough to solo, that I find it fun to do. It it were not for the drag that happens from, imo, 34-46 and the crazy rep grinding you need to do I think WoW is a great game to play alts.<\/p>\n
The worst part is I want to play my hunter, and want to do more dungeon runs. But I can not stand the process you have to go through to get a group. Each dungeon run needs a healer and a tank, and there are not enough of them available or wanting, thus so much time is wasted simply waiting. When I play an alt, very little time is wasted, I simply jump in and start leveling. <\/p>\n
