Yesterday my wife and I faced a trial the likes of which we never thought we would have to face. The baby was lost.<\/p>\n
It seems that development stopped somewhere near week seven, though I believe it was sooner than that. So for about 3 weeks instead of growing it was being broken down by my wife’s body, only to be discovered by her this past weekend.<\/p>\n
I feel terrible, sad, and a bit disappointed, yet I knowing that God is in control and has a plan greater than us or our baby, I am comforted. Comfort though does not help me figure out what to do next or how to help my wife, so I just plow ahead and pray thanking God for continued blessings and asking for strength to get up each day.<\/p>\n
That was yesterday, today I am sitting on a plane at thirty thousand feet heading east to Florida. Every time I fly I am amazed at what people carry on with them. There is a two bag limit and there is always someone who pushes that to the edge and complains when their bags do not fit. Crazy.<\/p>\n
I am also always amazed that planes actually work. That I am sitting in a metal tube soaring across the sky thousands of feet up is a marvel. Utterly fantastic.<\/p>\n
*Sigh* not to sound ungrateful but I am not at all interested in the conference I am heading to. This trip just makes me realize how much I squandered my time at ES. I should not have let personality conflicts with people effect the fact that I should have been more vocal, taken the lead on getting things started and then following through with documentation. I needed to change my off work priorities and make my self needed at the company in a greater fashion. God blessed me with job, and with co-workers that I can call friends, but all this just makes me want back in the game industry even more. I am going to have to start reaching out even if there is no one asking.<\/p>\n
So back to this conference; bah forget the conference, if I come back having learned five new things I will call it a good trip. Other than that I want to work on design documentation, and watch as E3 news trickles in.<\/p>\n
