Initial LoTRO thoughts

After playing the open beta with some friends for a few days I have come to appreciate Lord of the Rings Online. It seems to take some of my favorite elements from other MMOs and put them together in a polished and fun package. While a nice diversion from WoW, I do not see it replacing my long term playing of WoW.

Below is my list of the game’s thorns, or small things that make me just a bit frustrated. Next time I will post my list things that stood out.

Identifying target threat:
NPC (mobs) name colors sometimes are different when targeted vs not targeted.
I have not seen a way to tell an aggressive mob from neutral

IDing NPCs (townspeople) vs players:
They have the same color names and fonts.

Non-scalable UI:
I should be able to scale up or down each individual UI element. I was some things smaller others bigger.

Movable UI parts:
I want a modular UI where I can position shape the elements how I want.

No –custom chat channels:
I want a way for my friends to all communicate with each other without being in the same kinship

No “guide NPCs”:
Like the town guards in wow, where I can ask where say a hunter trainer is and have them point me in the right direction.

Map Notes:
Let me add my own notes to the main map and have the ability to filter them on and off.

Waypoints:
It would be nice if I could set a way point on the map and get say a blue arrow pointing in that direction on the minimap.

Fragile In combat flag:
My character considered in combat if a nearby fellow is in combat. This makes getting into stealth between enemies tougher than I think it should be.

No mini-map zooom:
I would like to zoom my map in and out.
