I picked up The Orc King at the library and was very glad I did not spend money on it. Other than the peek in the future of the Forgotten Realms, this book is one of the worst I have read from Salvatore.

It felt almost amateur to me. It was rushed where in some parts it felt almost as though part of the story is missing. The characters seemed even more flat than normal, and in cases they acted in ways not consistent with how I felt they should be acting. The plot felt very forced, as though the author picked an ending that was going to take more words than he had room for, so he squeezed it in.

*shrug* Oh well, it was not as though I was really expecting much.
