New game addiction

While I am still completely hooked on WoW, I do believe I have broken my addiction to “new games.”

See back before my daughter was conceived we had “extra” money. We were able to pay our bills, get rid of debt, and generally buy what we needed or wanted (within reason). So when ever a new cool computer or video game was released, I could (and often would) run out and get it right away.

Never mind if I had no time to devote to actually playing it. Forget the fact that I already had a stack of games that had been installed but not played. *laughs* Nope I would just pick things up to “have”.

It was hard, but now as long as I can hold out for the first ten days after release, I generally have no problems not buying a game.

Most recent examples have been Age of Conan, and Warhammer Online. I love MMOs, and really want to play these while people at the office are also playing. Though I knew I just did not have time for them, and so I held off (thus far) from picking them up.

Yah, I know this sounds silly but I wanted to actually record the fact that at the age of 37 I started to grow up a little. 😉
