I have scatter brain today, which seems to be a state I find myself in more often than I once did, so my post is probably going to wander a bit.

First I can not believe there were people in tents outside of our walmart waiting for the PS3. These people think getting one is like getting free money, since the supply is so small. It’s sad to think that the few hardcore gamers with $700 dollars to spend that want one on launch have to compete with those only out for cash. Oh well, I say wait a year on the PS3 and instead pick up a Wii.

Thinking of consoles, I really enjoy games on them, but I never seem to play them. Example I recently bought Final Fantasy 12, and I played it a bunch on day one. So far I am having a blast with it, and really want to play it more. Alas, I just don’t seem to be playing it. The reasons are:

  • When I am playing on my consoles, I am disconnected from my friends. (Tv is in the other room away from the computer).
  • Console games have great audio and I want to hear it. Too bad my baby and wife do not.
  • I enjoy sitting on the sofa. Alas it so comfy I get sleepy, and its hard to take notes.
  • The games on the big TV look great, and so do movies and shows which everyone else wants to watch. And when they do not, having to sit in the middle of the house means everything else can be a distraction.

I guess what I need to do is get a smaller HDTV for my home office, and a pair of wireless surround headphones, if I want to really play. Guess that is the main reason I don’t own an xbox360 yet.
