Parenting is hard work: The Waking Baby

First my wife gets the flu for a week, then I catch a cold, followed by some serious cold temperatures with ice, and now Lauren has decided she does not want to sleep for long alone. Yep, the past two weeks have been full of fun.

The ill adults, and the weather I can deal with, but a crying baby is something completely different. I want her to be happy. I want her to sleep. I want her to stop crying. But the problem is if I do what seems to make all those things happen, I fear teaching her a bad lesson or setting a precedent for rewarding bad behavior.

I guess no one ever said being a parent was going to be full of easy decisions, or with problems that were simple to solve. Makes me wonder how young couples with much less maturity deal with parent hood. *shrug* Or I should say I now better understand why many do not.

For now all I can do is try and help my wife out, and pray that we do the right thing.
